Guide

How to get great results

EasyListings keeps your piece exactly as it is and makes it look its best. It can only work with what your photos show, so good photos give great results.

1

Light

Soft daylight by a window, or a lightbox. No flash, no harsh sun. The piece must be clearly visible, not dark.

2

Focus

Hold still, tap the piece on your screen to focus, and keep the zoom at 1x. Blurry in means blurry out.

3

Distance

Fill about two thirds of the frame with the piece, 15 to 25 cm away. Do not crop tight in the camera.

4

Angles

3 to 5 full views: front, three-quarter from each side, side and back. Rings: one standing on the shank at a three-quarter angle.

5

Background

Plain card or a clean surface. Any background is fine because we replace it. Remove other items from the shot.

6

Worn shot

For a worn image, take one photo of the piece on your hand, ear or neck. It sets the pose and the true size.

7

Hallmarks

Take a sharp close-up of any hallmarks or signatures and tag it Hallmark. These are never regenerated.

8

Damage

Photograph every chip, crack, dent, repair or missing stone and add it in the red Damage box with a note. Buyers expect it.

What to write

No refunds: reviewed regenerations instead

You see the full result as a watermarked preview before you pay, so we do not give refunds. Every listing has its own ID, for example EL-1EA32A. If our system gets something wrong, such as a changed stone, the wrong metal colour or a missing detail, press "Report a problem" on the item. We check your report against the photos you uploaded and, where we got it wrong, give you a free regeneration.

Results from dark, blurry, very small or incomplete photos, or from missing details, are not regenerated for free. The app warns you about these when you upload.
